#firstpagefriday

Find “THE MEMORY THIEF” by Lauren Mansy in the library on the Fiction shelves at F Man, or as an eBook.

What it’s about: “In the city of Craewick, memories reign. The power-obsessed ruler of the city, Madame, has cultivated a society in which memories are currency, citizens are divided by ability, and Gifted individuals can take memories from others through touch as they please. Seventeen-year-old Etta Lark is desperate to live outside of the corrupt culture, but she grapples with the guilt of an accident that has left her mother bedridden in the city’s asylum. When Madame threatens to put her mother up for auction, a Craewick practice in which a ‘criminal’s’ memories are sold to the highest bidder before being killed, Etta will do whatever it takes to save her. Even if it means rejoining the Shadows, the rebel group she swore off in the wake of the accident years earlier. “

Textbook Day

TODAY is Textbook Day. Students are called by classes to the library and will pick up all of their Semester 1 (Term/Q 1) textbooks at once.
The library is closed for all non-textbook reasons, including lunch and after school.
If you have a course change and need a different textbook, or need a textbook repaired, stop by the library and ask Ms. Penner for help.
At the end of each semester, all textbooks must be returned to the library.

As you’re figuring out what to wear for the first day of school tomorrow, and getting everything organized for heading back to school, make sure you track down your library books you checked out for summer reading — they’re due back at the library this week!

Under construction …

The library catalog is switching to a new & improved website for next year — the current catalog will not be available after June 25.

Info on how to find and login to the new library catalog will be included in the back-to-school newsletter sent from MEI Secondary Library. Keep an eye on @meilibrary on social media this summer!
